23/11/2011 - Grattes Brothers Occupation Update

On Wednesday 23rd November a large number of M&E Workers and supporters entered the Grattes Brothers London office to speak to management about the impending introduction of BESNA to the industry.

Rather surprisingly there was a hostile reception awaiting us. Certain actions by elderly, overpaid and overweight office staff were recorded on mobile phones incase accusations were thrown at us. Extremely luckily for them, the investigation did not warrant the need for these to be released.

After the above incident, the HVCA and Grattes Brothers both vowed that there would be a full MET Police Investigation into the incident.

A quote from the BESNA Blog, written by Blane Judd:
"But the violent and abusive actions staged on Wednesday at the HQ of Gratte Brothers in London must be condemned.  Claims of assault have been made and quite rightly the police are investigating"

The HVCA/BESNA Blog report on the incident

Construction Enquirer Report

Suprisingly, the Grattes Brothers Statement on events seems to have disappeared.

Today, from an anonymous source, I have received the FULL MET Police Investigation

"Dear **********

·        "On the morning of Wednesday 23rd November there was an incident where police were called at the office of a company called Grattes Brothers. Grattes Brothers, 2 Regents Wharf, All Saints Street London, N1 9RL At around 8am 100 Electricians, plumbers and supporters entered the above office to speak with management. The office staff were not very hospitable and this resulted in the police being called. The doors to the office were also chained shut at some point during the incident. After the incident it was stated by the Senior Officer on the scene and in press statements released by Grattes Brothers and the HVCA that there would be a full police investigation. Nothing more has ever been mentioned of this and I am trying to find out:
1. Was there an investigation in to the above incident?
2. If there was what was the outcome? "

Professional Standards"

As you can see, there was no police investigation. It was once again, a load of bollocks/propaganda spouted out by the HVCA and Grattes.

We entered the building legally, we had a legal reason to be there, we were polite until attacked. I think a couple of the Grattes staff can count themselves lucky that we have not entered our videos into the investigation as they most certainly would have been pulled in for questioning for a minimum charge of ABH.

I know for a fact that  Balfour Beatty, Grattes Brothers, Tommy Clarkes, Crown House, Spie, Baileys, Shepherds, HVCA and  HVCA Wellplan  read this blog EVERYDAY.

I here call upon the HVCA and Grattes Brothers to APOLOGISE to us for publicising our actions as those of political activists and anarchists who break the law.
We are SKILLED TRADESMEN asking to be treated with respect
